Should I leave my job?
Our agony aunt Mary Fenwick is offering a new perspective on whatever is troubling you
Q. I feel as if I am at a crossroads in my career. I love my job and team but feel like the company is asking too much of me. I was recently offered a job at a different firm with a higher salary. I don’t know what to do as I really love the people I work with. Help! Name supplied
A. This is a challenge. You’re not asking me a question, so I would like to ask a few myself: What is attractive about the new offer? What stops you from negotiating a better deal where you are now? Who exactly asks too much of you? What have you done to make sure the problem has been made clear?

One idea is to flip a coin. Heads you stay; tails you go! The point is not to obey the chance instruction, but to notice your gut reaction. Does your heart leap or your stomach sink?
