1. Sending a text or email by accident can be hurtful, but 'don't be too quick to apologise either,' says psychologist Victoria Megglé. Sometimes it can turn out helpful to say what you hadn't meant to, and to have told the truth.
2. 'Take the time to think about what your slip-up might mean before talking about it later, when you are calm,' she says. Acknowledging our mistakes can help us to grow.
3. Laugh at yourself. It's the best way to step back and not over-dramatise things.
