Want your business to be more successful?

As a business owner, you are the boss, the employee, the social media ‘expert’, the accountant, lawyer, website builder, copywriter (and often the coach too).

When you start out in business, especially if it’s a service based business like coaching, consulting or healing (I call these CCH for short), you will most likely be starting from scratch in every respect.

Most of the entrepreneurs I meet who run their own CCH started out with little or no money to invest and no paying clients, or reputation with which to secure them. It doesn’t mean failure is certain but the odds are certainly stacked against you if this is the place from which you’re starting out in business.

What can you do to increase your chances of success?
Firstly, it’s not all doom and gloom! There are things you can do, actions you can take, and frameworks you can follow. Pieces of the entrepreneurial puzzle that will help you to build a profitable business and a lifestyle that doesn’t suck the life out of you.

No matter what level your business is currently at, one thing is certain; it could be better. There is always room for improvement. They key is to see this as an opportunity, and to seize the possibilities.

So, tell me, what are you doing to grow your business today, this week, this month? Chances are that you aren’t doing as much as you think you are. I bet you’re spending a bit too much time on social media. Perhaps networking in the wrong places because you like the people and having a few too many coffee meetings.

In contrast, I’m guessing you probably don’t have an income goal written down? It’s also unlikely that you’ve created a content plan, with a carefully crafted list of the topics you’ll be discussing in the coming weeks, or months.

Few business owners are ever truly doing everything that it takes to create success.

So, today I want you to ask yourself this question “what do I need to do to make my business more successful?”

This question isn’t an excuse to beat yourself up for perceived failings. Rather, it’s an opportunity to look at one specific thing that you could (and probably should be doing) but you’re not.

Once you’ve pinpointed that one thing, make the decision to up your game and do what it takes to achieve more success.

No excuses.

You really can cut out much of what you tinker with. This is crucial if you want to make the most of the time you have available. When you focus on business and concentrate your efforts in just a few key areas you will see the growth that you really want.

More effort directed at the right activities – this is the key making your business more successful.
