In a previous article, I discussed the importance of being in tune with the cycles of nature (like the seasons or the moon) and our inner cycles (like the circadian rhythm, and in the case of women, our menstrual cycle).
Ancient traditions were very aware of the influence of the moon cycle and lived in harmony with it, integrating in practices like agriculture.
The two main events in the moon cycle are the full moon and the new moon.

Today I want to share with you a new moon meditation and fire ceremony so you can make the most of the power of the new moon energy.
The day of the new moon (or the days around it) is the perfect time to set the intention for new beginnings.
You can tune into this energy to sit in stillness and meditate to manifest what you want to attract to your life.
This is how to do it step by step:
1.Find a place where you can be quiet and comfortable and where no one will disturb you.
2.Turn off all devices/notifications so you are not interrupted.
3.Light up a candle and set the intention to start manifesting whatever you want to attract to your life.
4.Sit in stillness. Focus on your breath for a few minutes, letting go of any thoughts unrelated to this exercise. If thoughts arise (and they will!) just bring back your attention to your breath and see them going.
5.Now spend some time self-reflecting, journaling can be a very useful tool to use here. The following questions might help you get some ideas:
What are my goals? What do I actually want? What do I need more of in my life? What do I desire from the bottom of my heart? What lights up my heart? What makes me happy?
6.Once you identify your ‘wishes’, write them down, and if you want to draw them, even better!
Write them in a positive way, for example write ‘I want to be healthy’ instead of ‘I don’t want to be ill’.
Visualise yourself experiencing your ‘wishes’ and connect with an elevated emotion (love, joy, gratitude, bliss…). This is the most important part!
If you want to start manifesting nicer events and experiences, your frequency needs to match them. If you want to be loved, you have to become love, if you want to attract money, you have to become abundant, if you want to receive, you need to grateful.
So write your wishes like they have already happened and link them to an elevated emotion. Some examples could be:
‘I am abundant. Money and opportunities flow easily to me and I am so grateful for these resources.’
‘I have vibrant health and I am full of energy. It is such a bliss to wake up every morning feeling so good!’
‘I am love and I am loved. I am surrounded by people who love me, nurture me and support me. I am so grateful for having these people in my life’
Blow them onto a toothpick. Use as many as you want.
7.Burn the toothpicks using the candle (please mind your safety when using fire!) and set a strong intention to start manifesting your wishes.
8.Spend a few minutes in stillness integrating this ceremony and connecting with gratitude. Trust that the universe will guide you so the changes that need to happen will start manifesting in your life.
These steps are only a suggestion to make a simple new moon fire ceremony that anyone can perform at home.
But you can be as creative as you can, adding additional steps, gathering with friends to make it more powerful or using guided visualisations like the ones I have in my online program.
