Brace yourself; this could be the best film you see all year.
Set against the backdrop of Gay Pride activism and the miners’ strike of 1984, Pride tells the true story of small activist group LGSM (Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners) who, through collections and ‘Pits and Perverts’ fundraising concerts, supported a small Welsh mining village through the strikes.
At first, their help is rejected, as pride and prejudice from some of the mining community gets in the way, but after the LGSM group visit, unbreakable bonds are formed.
A story of solidarity and union, and an inspiring example of achieving more together than you ever could apart, Pride is a spectacularly funny, inspirational and moving film, with an exceptional cast including Imelda Staunton and Bill Nighy.
Pride is released in UK and Irish cinemas on 12 September
